Pupil initiated support for the Alzheimer's Charity in the form of a bake sale. This was as a result of a grandparent suffering from Alzheimers and the pupil wanted to raise awareness to her peers.
Following their PSHE lessons. Two pupils sought permission by writing to the Headteacher regarding a possible fundraiser and to raise awareness of caring for marine life.
Following an initial visit from the regional Air Ambulance. A pupil wrote to the Headteacher asking if a pre-loved book sale could be organised to raise funds for the charity.
During a Mental Health awareness week, a pupil had an idea for a 'Happy Jars' campaign and wrote a letter to the Headteacher to explain more. As a result, the 'Happy Jars' promotion took place in school. Children were also provided with instructions to make their jar.
Following Collective Worship that updated the children upon the Ukraine - Russian war, children took it upon themselves to research Ukraine and make crosses that were used in reflection time.
Related to the application for the Northamptonshire Schools Healthy Gold Award, children suggested possible ideas to raise awareness. One idea that was then implemented was an 'Idol' day. Children dressed up as idols that included teacher/family role models.
During the lockdown due to the covid epidemic, children made and delivered care packages to elderly relatives who were known to the children and their families. These were very well received from the feedback provided.
