Our School Prayer

Dear Lord,

Please bless us all,

Help us to care for one another and to forgive one another,

To play and work well together,

Help us to be thankful and always to remember the love of Christ and spread his love wherever we go.

Amen

Admission Arrangements

Timetable for appeals – September 2021 applications

Following the National Offer Day on 16th April 2021 , the deadline for lodging an on-time appeal is 4:00pm on the 21st May 2021 (09:00) .

Proposed appeal hearing dates are between 1 – 6 July 2021. All Spring / Summer 2021 appeals will take place on Zoom.

Decision letters will be sent within five working days of the appeal hearing, subject to any unforeseen circumstances.

How to appeal for a place at our school

If you have applied and been refused a place at our academy/school (in any year group), you are entitled to appeal against that decision.

Appeals for PDET academies are administered by The Diocese of Peterborough Education team. For more information on the process please see: https://www.peterborough-diocese.org.uk/parents/appeals

If you wish to appeal please contact the Appeals Administrator and ask for an appeals pack. Contact Alex Benoy at education@peterborough-diocese.org.uk.

The pack includes some explanatory notes about the process of Admission Appeals and a Notice of Appeal form that, should you decide to proceed with an appeal, will need to be completed and returned by email if possible, but if not, to the Diocesan Office instead.

Admission to any year group during the school year (known as in-year applications)

If you are interested in joining our school and would like to arrange a visit please contact admin@cottinghamprimary.co.uk

We are part of the North Northamptonshire Council in year scheme, which means applications must be made via the local authority rather than directly to the school.

Consultation on Admission Arrangements for September 2023

All admission authorities are required to formally consult if they propose to make any changes to their admission arrangements for the following school year. We are currently consulting on our admission arrangements which will apply from September 2023 and are proposing the following changes:

  • Change to our admissions criteria to include children of staff in third order above location.
You can find a full copy of our proposed admission arrangements here: Cottingham admissions policy. The consultation period runs from 8th November to 19th December 2021. Should you wish to make any comments about the proposed arrangements you can do so by email to the Chair of Governors dsharman@cottinghamprimary.co.uk or by post: Chair of Govenors, Cottingham CofE Primary School, Berryfield Rd, Cottingham, Leics, LE168XB.

Current Arrangements

How to apply for a school at Cottingham CofE Primary School

Cottingham Primary School follows North Northamptonshire County Guidance for admissions for rural village primary schools. The Academy Governance Committee (AGC) have delegated responsibility for admissions in our school and are therefore responsible for all admissions. All places are allocated in accordance with our Admissions Policy which you will find at www.cottinghamprimary.co.uk

In order to submit an application, please refer to the local authority’s website

Oversubscription Criteria

Places will be allocated to pupils who have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) Plan that names the school as appropriate provision. When there are more applications for places than there are places available, priority will be given in the following order:

  1. Looked after children and children who were previously looked after but immediately after being looked after were adopted or became subject to a child arrangements order, or special guardianship order including those children who appear (to the admission authority) to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted.
  2. Pupils with a brother or sister continuing at the school at the time of admission of the child.
  3. Pupils who live in the linked area: Cottingham, Middleton, East Carlton & Rockingham.
  4. Other pupils.

Tiebreaker: If the admission number is exceeded within any criterion priority will be given to those who live closest to the school.
